SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: SUMMER ABROAD WITH THE SCOTTISH UNIVERSITIES' INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL (SUISS)

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the 77th Anniversary of the Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (SUISS), which will run from the 8th July – 17th August 2024 at the University of Edinburgh. Please note that we offer a wide range of full and partial scholarship opportunities.  If you haven’t already, we would be very grateful if you could help circulate the attached poster to your colleagues and students.

We provide the following residential courses, which can be taken for university credits, and sought at undergraduate and postgraduate level: Creative WritingModernism, Contemporary Literature and Scottish Literature; and Contemporary British and Irish Theatre and Performance.

The courses are supplemented by a wide-ranging social and cultural programme, and will include readings by contemporary Scottish authors and performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Edinburgh is the first UNESCO World City of Literature and is home to highly acclaimed authors such as Ian Rankin, Irvine Welsh, Maggie O'Farrell and Alexander McCall Smith to name just a few.

Best wishes,

Dr Gina Gwenffrewi and Laura Muetzelfeldt
