LECTURE "HEALTHY LINGUISTIC DIET: A FRAMEWORK FOR PLURILINGUAL DEVELOPMENT"

On Wednesday, March 11 our MA program in English language, Linguistics and Translation will host a guest lecture by Dina Mehmedbegovic-Smith (University College London). The lecture's title is "Healthy Linguistic Diet: A Framework for Plurilingual Development". The lecture will take place at 12.00 pm in Room 803.

Dr Dina Mehmedbegovic-Smith is an Associate Professor of Education and Applied Linguistics at University College London (UCL), Institute of Education, UK. She teaches across a range of master’s and doctoral programmes. A registered European Union Commission expert, Dina has contributed to the peer review of language education across the EU. Her concept of Healthy Linguistic Diet is endorsed in two key EU Commission reports: 1) Rethinking Language Education and Linguistic Diversity in Schools, and 2) Migrants in European Schools – Learning and Maintaining Languages. Dina’s overarching mission is to shape education policy and practice so that no child feels the need to hide their home language and no family experiences alienation caused by the loss of their heritage language.
